    Michael Anthony Taylor[1] (born March 26, 1991) is an American professional baseballcenter fielder who is a free agent.

    He has previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Washington Nationals, Kansas City Royals, Minnesota Twins, and Pittsburgh Pirates. Taylor was drafted by the Nationals in the sixth round of the 2009 MLB draft, made his MLB debut with them in 2014, and was a member of the 2019 World Series championship team.

    He won a Gold Glove Award and Fielding Bible Award in 2021.

    Early life and education

    Taylor was born to military parents; his father, Anthony Taylor, was a logistics officer for 22 years in the U.S. Army. Taylor has four older sisters. He attended Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and played for the school's baseball team.
